The report highlighted: “Companies are struggling to develop leaders at all levels and are investing in new and accelerated leadership models.”
With the pace of business accelerating, everyone wants results fast. And that includes leadership development. Yet we repeatedly hear of clients who have invested in 6-12 month leadership programmes but nothing has changed. That’s largely because you don’t change your behaviour just by learning about something cognitively. Behavioural change occurs as a result of experiencing something different and being able to make sense of it, combining both somatic and cognitive understanding together.
That’s why when we work with horses, we encourage you to tap into 3 primary sources of information – your head for logical reasoning and information, your heart for your emotional responses and your gut for your instincts and intuition. Most people have no idea how to engage the heart and gut whilst their brains are working overtime. When we work with horses, we have greater access to all three, ensuring that the learning is more aligned and behaviour changes when you return to the workplace. Once you’ve physically felt a deeper level of trust or self-confidence, you can’t unlearn that experience which means that clients can recreate it when they return back to the workplace.
