EMMA GRADUATES FROM ASTON SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH PROGRAMME
30 businesses across the Midlands recently celebrated completing the Aston Programme for Small Business Growth – a programme specifically designed to support owner-managed companies plan for high future growth.
Emma represented The Leadership Whisperers in this programme, attending weekly workshops from Feb to June 2015 on a range of topics including marketing, innovation, leadership, HR, operations management and finance.
Emma also had access to one-to-one support from a business mentor, presented a plan for business growth to an investment panel in the grounds of Birmingham Cathedral with the horses, and had the opportunity to network with like-minded business owners.
On Tuesday 7th July, a graduation dinner was held at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to celebrate the achievements of the 30 businesses who successfully completed the four-month programme. Presented by the Professor of Small Business and Entrepreneurship at Aston Business School, Mark Hart, each individual received a crystal award and a certificate of completion.
A major component of the programme was networking and mutual support. We were delighted to offer a half day Leadership with Horses workshop to the programme participants. Many of them took up the offer and had a great morning of learning which made a deep impression and will have a lasting impact.
We are delighted that Emma had the opportunity to participate in the Aston Small Business Growth programme and look forward to continuing the conversations with the academic team and networking with the other businesses who participated.
